Atlas — Privacy Policy

Effective date: 27 July 2026

1. Scope

The controller of the data described here is Elade – Mateusz Kamiński, a sole proprietorship registered in Poland; full details are in §12, and support@elade.io reaches us for any request under this policy.

This policy covers two different things, and it is worth keeping them apart:

1. Data we process about you as a customer when you buy Atlas or contact us for support.
2. What the theme itself does once installed in your help center — which matters to you, because there the visitors are your users and you, not us, are their data controller.

If you only read one section, read §4.

2. Data we process about customers

Purchase data. Sales happen through the Zendesk Marketplace, with payment processed by Stripe into our own Stripe account. From Zendesk we receive the purchasing organisation, the Zendesk subdomain, and which products were bought. From Stripe we receive what is needed to complete and account for the sale: the billing name and e-mail, the amount, the country and any tax identifier used for tax, and the last four digits and brand of the card. We never receive or store your full card number — that stays with Stripe.

Basis: performance of the contract, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.

Support correspondence. If you e-mail us, we process your address, your message, and anything you choose to include — such as screenshots or a help center URL.

Basis: performance of the contract, and our legitimate interest in supporting our product.

We do not run advertising, sell data, build profiles, or use your information for automated decision-making or profiling. We do not buy contact data, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you bought something.

3. Retention

Support correspondence: two years from our last exchange, then deleted.
Accounting records: five years from the end of the tax year in which the sale happened, as Polish tax law requires. We cannot delete these earlier, even on request — the obligation to keep them overrides erasure.

4. What the theme does in your help center

This is the section most buyers actually need, so it is stated plainly.

Atlas sends no data to us. We operate no servers involved in the theme's operation. There is no analytics, telemetry, tracking pixel, licence check, or "phone home" of any kind. We have no visibility into your help center, your content, or your visitors — and no way to acquire it without shipping you a new version of the theme.

Atlas packages its own theme assets. Its fonts, styles, scripts, icons and illustrations ship with the theme and are served through Zendesk. Atlas adds no analytics, advertising, telemetry, tracking pixels, licence checks or calls to Elade.

Some optional Zendesk features can load remote avatar images. The generative-answer flow uses an image hosted by Zendesk, and the approvals flow can load an avatar URL supplied by Zendesk, including a Gravatar fallback when no user avatar is available. Atlas does not receive data from those requests. The image host can receive the ordinary technical data involved in serving a file, such as the visitor's IP address and browser headers.

Atlas's own API requests are same-origin. They come from the visitor's browser and go to your Zendesk help center to read categories, article counts and, for signed-in users, their own request count. That is data your help center already holds and already displays.

Links you configure in the theme settings — quick links, social profiles — are ordinary hyperlinks. They send nothing anywhere until a visitor chooses to click one, and then only to the destination you chose.

Your responsibilities as controller. Your help center runs on Zendesk, and Zendesk's own processing — cookies, session handling, logs — is governed by your agreement with Zendesk and sits outside our control and outside this policy. Any additional scripts, apps or embeds you add to your help center are yours to disclose.

5. Recipients

We use the following providers to run the sale, support it and operate this website. They receive only the data required for their role:

  • Zendesk, Inc. — Marketplace distribution and licensing
  • Stripe — payment processing, and calculation and reporting of VAT and other sales taxes
  • Our e-mail provider — support correspondence
  • Our web host — hosting of the marketing site where these documents are published
  • Google — web fonts and, if you consent, website analytics
  • Our accountants — invoices and statutory records

We disclose data to public authorities only where the law obliges us to, and only to the extent required.

6. International transfers

Some of these providers are established outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or on an adequacy decision.

7. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Write to support@elade.io and we answer within one month. We do not charge for this.

Because we hold very little — essentially purchase records and any e-mails you sent us — most such requests are quick to satisfy. The one limit is §3: accounting records stay for as long as tax law requires.

You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Poland this is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa.

8. Cookies and browser storage

Our marketing site uses Google Analytics in advanced Consent Mode. Analytics and advertising storage are denied by default, but the Google tag still loads and can send cookieless consent and measurement pings. If you accept, Google Analytics can use browser storage to measure visits. Your choice is saved in local storage and can be changed through the site's cookie controls. The Google Analytics script and Google Fonts are loaded from Google, which can receive ordinary technical request data such as your IP address and browser headers when serving those resources.

The theme sets no cookies of its own. Cookies present in your help center come from Zendesk.

The theme does use your visitors' browser storage, which some consent regimes treat much like cookies, so here is exactly what and why. All of it is strictly functional, all of it stays in the visitor's own browser, and none of it is transmitted anywhere:

  • Session storage — a short-lived cache of navigation data the page already displays, and notifications that need to survive a page reload (for example, "your request was submitted"). Cleared when the tab closes.
  • Local storage — a signed-in user's own display preferences, such as which columns they chose to see in their request list, plus an anonymous session identifier set by the bundled rich-text comment editor.

None of this is an identifier that could recognise a visitor across sites, and none of it feeds analytics or advertising.

9. Children

Atlas is sold to organisations for business use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

10. Security

We keep customer data to a minimum, which is the most effective security measure available to us. Access is limited to the people who need it to run the business, accounts are protected with strong authentication, and we rely on the security of established providers — Zendesk, Stripe — rather than storing payment or platform data ourselves.

11. Changes

We will update this policy if our processing changes, and update the effective date above. Material changes affecting existing customers will be announced by e-mail or on the Marketplace listing.
